SMART Visa is offered foreign talents and investors to invest in the following 13 S-Curve industries of Thailand
This program is aimed at startup entrepreneurs investing in new businesses, as well as experts, highly-skilled professionals, and senior executives and investors who will help build and expand Thailand’s capacity in the targeted industries and business activities. It is hoped that it will enhance knowledge transfer and increase the competitiveness of Thailand in the global economy.
The applicants for the SMART Visa must have qualifications according to the criteria specified by the government.
• Register and create an account on the official SMART Visa online system.
• Complete the online application form.
• Upload the required supporting documents.
• After you submit the online application form and upload all required documents, you must confirm your understanding and acceptance of the qualification endorsement requirements.
• Your application and supporting documents will be verified by relevant Thai government agencies (Board of Investment, Immigration, etc.).
• The processing time for the qualification endorsement takes approximately 30 business days from the date all complete documents are received.
• You may be contacted to provide additional information or documents during this stage.
• You will receive an email notification regarding the outcome of your application.
• When your qualification is approved, you will receive an endorsement letter.
• After being notified of the result of qualification endorsement. You must then apply for the LTR Visa within 60 days of the endorsement letter issuance.
• You can proceed with applying for SMART Visa issuance depending on either options:
1. If you are outside Thailand, you will need to apply for e-Visa at Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate-General in particular country.
2. Thailand Investment and Expat Services Center (TIESC)
3. EEC Labour Administration Center in Chonburi
• The processing fee for the 10 years multiple-entry visa is THB 10,000 per person when collecting the LTR Visa in Thailand. (Fees may vary if collecting it overseas.)
