ANon-immigrant visa will be granted to applicants according to the purpose of applying for a temporary stay in Thailand based on the rules and regulations of the Immigration Bureau of Thailand and the authorities as follows.
Non-Immigrant visas
Non-Immigrant Visa “B” : To conduct business, to work, attend business conferences, to study teaching course, to work as an English teacher, to work as a sport coach, to do an internship (non-curricular).
Non-Immigrant Visa “IB” : To employ or investing or perform other activities relating to investment, subject to the provision of the established laws on investment promotion.
Non-Immigrant Visa “IM” : To invest with the concurrence of the Thai Ministries and Government Departments concerned.
Non-Immigrant Visa “ED” : To study as full-time education, observation, internship or any other educational programme in Thailand.
Non-Immigrant Visa “ED PLUS” : To study at universities/institutions in Thailand at a bachelor’s degree level or above, this is allowed to extend stay in Thailand for 1 year after graduation, seeking employment, travel or take part in other activities.
Non-Immigrant Visa “O”:
- To visit as a relative of a Thai national or dependents of a foreigner currently working in Thailand need to enter for staying temporary in Thailand as the parents, spouse, or child under the patronage and being a part of the household or
- Voluntary job for a non-governmental organization (NGO),
- Retirement, medical treatment, to work as diplomat’s housekeeper
Non-Immigrant Visa “M” : To work as a film-producer, journalist or reporter.
Non-Immigrant Visa “EX” : To undertake skilled work or to work as an expert or specialist.
Non-Immigrant Visa “RS” : To conduct scientific research or training or teaching in a research institute.
Non-Immigrant Visa “D”/”F” : Diplomatic officers to be posted overseas / on official missions, teachers and officers of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), and those who receive scholarship from Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA).
Non-Immigrant Visa “O-A” : Applicants aged 50 and over who wish to retire and stay in Thailand for an extended period without the intention of working.
Non-Immigrant Visa “O-X” : Applicants aged 50 and over who wish to retire and stay in Thailand for an extended period without the intention of working, and who are nationals of Japan, Australia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, UK, Canada and United States of America.
Basic documents required for all types of Non-Immigrant Visa
- Passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months and at least 2 blank pages.
- Supporting documents for the purpose of visit to Thailand such as
- Invitation letter from the company/organization in Thailand,
- certified documentation of the payment of taxes by the business host,
- business registration, list of shareholders,
- Financial evidence e.g. bank statements, proof of earnings, proof of sponsorship from a third party.
- Recent passport-sized photograph (4 x 6 cm) of the applicant taken within the past 6 months.
- Additional documents according to the purpose of your visit in Thailand
Information about visa and validity of stay permit
Validity of a Visa
- Single entry for 90 days validity. You must enter Thailand within the validity of visa from the date of issue.
- Multiple entry for 1 year validity. You must enter Thailand on your final visit before expiry of the visa from the date of issue.
Period of Stay
- Non-Immigrant visa holders are initially granted a period of stay not exceeding 90 days upon arrival in Thailand.
- Multiple entry 1 year enables foreign nationals to enter Thailand multiple times and remain in the country for 90 days on each visit.
Extend Your Stay
- If an individual wishes to remain in Thailand and requests for extension must be generally qualified to obtain work permit and Non-Immigrant Visa extension.
- The length of stay will be valid 1-2 years with renewal or other.
